Another strong weekend for the Frenchman of Campos Racing claiming two wins at Slovakia Ring, where a new round of the World Touring Car Championship was held this weekend. Filippi was 5th and 7th and Homola also collected points on his debut
Campos Racing and its driver France´s Hugo Valente played an important role over the weekend at Slovakia Ring, where a new round of the World Touring Car Championship was hosted.
From the very beginning, Valente showed a very competitive pace with his Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 and ranked 6th in Qualifying, right behind Citroën and LADA factory cars and first among Independents´ Trophy drivers. Mato Homola and John Filippi posted 3rd and 6th quickest lap times respectively in the Independents´ Trophy.
In Race 1, Valente set lap times similar to factory drivers and pulled away from Tom Chilton to secure a dominant win among the privateers. Besides, he was 5th overall. Filippi and Homola finished fifth and sixth respectively. The second race was pretty much the same with Valente out of reach for his rivals. Another fifth place overall and another triumph in the Independents´ Trophy. Filippi was 7th this time with Homola 8th.
Paul Ricard (France) is ready to host another round of the series next weekend.
