Ghiotto and Nissany are in good spirits for the final part of the 2018 FIA Formula 2 season, which resumes at iconic Spa-Francorchamps next weekend after a four-week hiatus
Campos Vexatec Racing heads to Belgium for Round 9 of the FIA Formula 2 Championship. The season enters its crucial phase with just four rounds now remaining at Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, Sochi and Yas Marina.
Spa-Francorchamps, a rollercoaster in the Belgium Ardennes, is the starting point for the latter part of the season with Luca Ghiotto and Roy Nissany getting back behind the wheel of both Campos Vexatec Racing-run Dallara F2 2018 cars. Italian Ghiotto celebrated his best result of the 2018 season so far at the Hungaroring with a well-deserved second place on Sunday. Prior to this, the Italian ace also scored a double podium finish in Le Castellet producing other three top-5 results. Ghiotto and his teammate Nissany will be fighting for top honors coming into the weekend once again.
Campos Vexatec Racing has previously stepped onto the podium in Belgium in previous seasons. Spa-Francorchamps is characterized by extremely fast corners and compressions such as Eau Rouge and different types of asphalt, which is always a challenge for every driver and engineer. Despite a notoriously variable weather, the weather forecast is for a sunny weekend.
With free practice and qualifying sessions on Friday, Saturday’s race 1 is scheduled at 16.45 (CET) and Sunday’s race 2 at 10.50 (CET).
