Campos Vexatec Racing completed their first collective test of FIA Formula 2 Championship in Le Castellet. Italian Luca Ghiotto and Israeli Roy Nissany have been working very hard behind the wheel of their Campos Vexatec Racing-run Dallaras with particular emphasis placed on improving knowledge of new cars. Both drivers completed a grand total of more of 300 laps at Paul Ricard.
It was a tricky start to the testing on Tuesday morning due to wet track but conditions improved in the afternoon and Ghiotto posted a fourth-fastest lap time of 1:43.707. On his first outing with the car, Nissany clocked a time of 1:46.166. On day 2, Ghiotto improved to turn a lap of 1:43.197 in the morning and his teammate also scored his fastest 1:44.626 in the same session. Finally on Thursday, when testing came to an end, Ghiotto set a 1:43.610 four tenths of a second clear of Nissany, the latter with a best lap of 1:44.048 to his name.
The second collective testing will take place on 21-22-23 March (Bahrain), the same circuit where the season will kick off in April.
