The Alzira-based team will run five cars for the first time in the Euroformula F3 Open, which should put it in a very good shape for the season finale
Campos Racing will head to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the final round of the Euroformula F3 Open keeping a clear goal in mind: another strong effort intending to finish on the rostrum once again. Simo Laaksonen, Thiago Vivacqua, Matheus Iorio, Cameron Das and the addition of Italian F.4 racer Lorenzo Colombo will fight to become the standard bearer at season closer.
Laaksonen is delivering extremely positive performances in the second half of the year. Finnish series’ rookie secured a second place finish in Hungary and stepped onto the rostrum at Monza. Only a bad race star prevented him from another podium finish in Jerez earlier this month. Laaksonen and Brazilian Vivacqua are level on points (88) with still two races remaining. Vivacqua took win at the Hungaroring and scored a podium finish at Spa-Francorchamps. His fellow countryman Iorio was another podium visitor at Estoril despite he failed to convert his qualifying efforts in top-ten finishes lately. American Das is also scoring points on a regular basis after making his debut at Silverstone. Colombo is looking forward to shine on his debut in Formula 3 after his good run of results in the Italian F.4 series.
Traditionally Barcelona is always a fertile ground for Campos Racing in Formula 3 racing. So, several drivers racing under Adrián Campos’ team banner scored triumphs in 2012, 2014 and 2015. Besides, Campos Racing took triumphs in the Spanish F.3 championship in 2007 and 2009.
Both races will take place on Saturday (15.00 CET) and Sunday (13.15 CET).
