Alzira-based team will enter its four Dallara F312 cars for Petru Florescu, Matheus Iorio, Simo Laaksonen and Thiago Vivacqua in all eight rounds this year
Campos Racing returns to the Euroformula F3 Open to defend its title with four cars at the season opener, which will take place at Autódromo do Estoril. Adrián Campos’ team claimed both drivers’ and teams’ titles last year and aims to repeat last year’s success with a four-car entry for Petru Florescu, Matheus Iorio, Simo Laaksonen and Thiago Vivacqua, they all young drivers but extremely talented.
Romanian Florescu will complete his first full season campaign in the series but his performance in the Winter Series proved he is in good shape always scoring competitive lap times. Campos Racing’s Brazilian duo Iorio and Vivacqua will make their debut in the Euroformula F3 Open but they can look back at a long list of achievements in the Formula 3-based series in their home country. In fact, Iorio won the title last year. Besides, Vivacqua stepped onto the podium at Paul Ricard, during the second event of the Winter Series. On the other hand, Laaksonen made an impression on his debut with Campos Racing in preseason and ran in podium contention.
All four drivers will hit the track for the very first time on Thursday at 10AM (CET), with three private test sessions to be held. On Friday, two free practice sessions will be a final appetizer for Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday Q1 will take place at 10.00 (CET) and race 1 at 15.15 (CET). On Sunday, on a similar schedule second official qualifying session is scheduled at 10.00 (CET) and race 2 is due to start at 13.15 (CET).
