Baltas, Karkosik and Siebert will head to Hungaroring for the last double-header before the summer break. Siebert and Karkosik are seeking to return to the podium next weekend with Baltas also eying Rookie honors
The iconic Hungaroring in the heart of Europe stages the latest round before summer break of the Euroformula F3 Open next weekend. Campos Racing will be entering its three-car assault for Yves Baltas, Alex Karkosik and Marcos Siebert. The trio of Campos Racing will be strong podiums contenders at the Hungaroring, sometimes called the “Monaco without the walls”.
At the moment, Argentinean Siebert sits fourth in the Drivers’ Standings with one win to his name at Estoril’s season opener. Siebert narrowly missed the podium in Le Castellet and Spa and expects a good result to end the first half of the season properly. Poland’s Karkosik scored his first podium finish under the Campos Racing banner at Spa-Francorchamps and his goal is to extend the rostrum streak. Baltas will be racing at the Hungaroring for the first time but the American driver doesn’t rule out the podium in Rookies’ class. In fact, Baltas already finished 3rd at Estoril on his Euroformula F3 Open debut and ranks 4th in class.
Campos Racing has found a fertile ground in Hungary in the previous seasons. The Spain-based team scored wins in 2012, 2014 and 2017, the series’ three visits to Hungaroring.
On Saturday, race 1 is scheduled at 14.40 (CET). Race 2 will take place on Sunday at 13.10 (CET).
