Paul Ricard will host the first round of the 2016 World Touring Car Championship
Campos Racing and Corsican John Filippi return to action in the World Touring Car Championship, as the first stop will take place at Circuit Paul Ricard next weekend. Filippi, at the wheel of his Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1, will battle for WTCC Trophy honors at the track located in the French Riviera.
Filippi is on his second year of CR-WTCC3, an ambitious racing programme developed by Campos Racing to work with young aces and become brands´ factory drivers, such as Hugo Valente. Corsica´s racer and Campos Racing completed a positive pre-season in Southern Europe and they feel optimistic to start off on the right foot at Paul Ricard.
Race weekend begins on Saturday with two free practice sessions in the morning and then qualifying taking place later at 14.00. New Opening Race – reverse grid race- and Main Race – according Q3 and extended- format introduced will be tasted by the drivers for the very first time on Sunday, they both scheduled at 12.15 and 17.15 respectively.
