Campos Racing delivered a strong performance in the GP3 Series collective test at the Yas Marina Circuit this week. Jehan Daruvala, Alex Peroni, Linus Lindqvist and Sebastián Fernández joined the Spanish outfit during the three-day test, they all posting extremely competitive and working well together with their engineers and mechanics.
On Thursday, Venezuelan Fernández finished 3rd-fastest with his lap time of 1m54.708s. Lindqvist posted a lap time of 1m55.070s to rank seventh in the timesheets with Peroni producing a best effort of 1m56.092s on the opening day.
Daruvala made a strong start to Day 2 placing second in the morning with his 1m54.689s. Equally, Peroni and Lindqvist improved their best lap times from Thursday and made it into the top-five with laps of 1m55.245s and 1m55.345s. In the afternoon, Daruvala topped the session with his time of 1m54.753s and Lindqvist was the 3rd-fastest driver a mere half a tenth slower than his Indian teammate.
The final day saw Daruvala clocking the fastest lap times in both sessions. The driver of Campos Racing set a lap of 1m55.093s in the afternoon with Fernández and Peroni securing top-five places as well with their lap times of 1m55.037s and 1m55.448s respectively.
