Karkosik and Siebert finished fifth and sixth today at Paul Ricard, where the second round of the Euroformula F3 Open took place, after a difficult Saturday. Baltas take a fourth place in the Rookies class
Campos Racing contested the second round of the Euroformula F3 Open this weekend. It was a extremely demanding race weekend but finally the hard work of every single team member paid off and the three drivers of Campos Racing performed well at Paul Ricard.
In the private testing on Thursday, Karkosik was 2nd fastest and then improved on Friday to clock the fastest time in dry conditions. Siebert was fastest in wet conditions. Unfortunately they couldn’t repeat a similar result on Saturday’s qualifying and Siebert, Baltas and Karkosik were forced to start from the back of the field. Karkosik and Siebert made up many places throughout the race and the Polish driver finished 7th and his Argentinean teammate 8th. Baltas was also improving but retire on lap ten after another car hit him.
Today, Campos Racing drivers improved their results in Q2. Karkosik qualified sixth and Siebert took tenth spot on the grid. Finally, Baltas took 15th on the grid. On lap 1, Siebert and Karkosik moved up to fifth and sixth place respectively. Shortly after, Karkosik passed Siebert for fifth and they took the checkered flag in fifth and sixth place. Baltas finished fourth in the Rookie class.
The Round 3 of the Euroformula F3 Open will take place at Spa-Francorchamps on 9-10 June.
