After winning season-opening race in Marrakech, Campos Racing and Argentina’s driver will push to extend their winning streak on the boot-shaped Italian peninsula
Campos Racing and Esteban Guerrieri will contest Italian World Touring Car Championship round next weekend, to take place at Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, and they arrive feeling optimistic and confident after achieving an impressive triumph at semi-permanent Circuit Moulay El Hassan. Guerrieri, at the wheel of his Campos Racing-entered Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1, drove magnificently to secure his maiden win in the series after passing Tom Coronel.
Monza is back the calendar after three-year hiatus but the Race of Italy has become an essential venue from WTCC’s roots in 2005.
After Marrakech’s Round 1 Guerrieri sits fifth in the drivers’ standings on 25 points and lies 3rd in WTCC Trophy on 13 points.
Two free practice sessions will take place on Saturday morning and qualifying sessions will take place at 14.15 (CET). On Sunday, both races are due to start at 12.15 (Opening Race) and 14.15 (Main Race), CET.
