Mahindra Racing Formula E Team clinched another podium in Monte Carlo where the fifth round of the series took place. Nick Heidfeld and Felix Rosenqvist, in their M3ELECTRO cars run in collaboration with Campos Racing, showed competitive form from in the narrow streets of Monte Carlo as soon as cars hit the track.
Swedish driver Rosenqvist took 6th on the starting grid by posting a lap time of 53.609. His teammate Heidfeld qualified 8th with a lap of 53.687, they both only three tenths shy of pole position time. At the start of the race, Heidfeld’s opportunistic move at the first hairpin was good enough to move up to fifth. At halfway stage of the race, Nelson Piquet and Jean-Eric Vergne hit each other and Heidfeld took advantage to take third place. After 51 laps, Heidfeld crossed the finish line in third place behind Sebastien Buemi and Lucas di Grassi. Rosenqvist came 6th.
After Monaco, Heidfeld lies 6th on 32 points and Rosenqvist 7th on 28 points in the drivers’ standings. Mahindra Racing currently sits 3rd in the teams’ classification.
The Paris ePrix will take place next Saturday.
