F4 Spain title battle remains wide open at Los Arcos

F4 Spain title battle remains wide open at Los Arcos

The Circuito de Navarra in Los Arcos will take centre stage this weekend as F4 Spain heads into the penultimate round of the 2026 season. Campos Racing continues its bid to defend the titles secured last year, with both Griffin Core by Campos and Campos Racing fielding three-car line-ups at the Navarra venue. Noah Monteiro, Vivek Kanthan and Ty Fisher will represent Griffin Core by Campos, while Jacob Micallef, Daniel Kelleher and Luna Fluxá will fly the Campos Racing flag.

So, how does the championship stand after five of the seven rounds on the calendar? Monteiro has established himself as one of the leading contenders for the F4 Spain title. The Portuguese driver sits second in the standings on 175 points, just seven behind championship leader Kasper Schormans. Monteiro opened the season with a triple podium finish at Cheste and also stood on the rostrum in both the Algarve and MotorLand. He continued to score strongly at Jarama following the summer break, but it was at Jerez where he strengthened his title credentials with two victories and a third-place finish. One statistic stands out: of the 15 races held so far, the Portuguese driver has failed to score points in just two.

His teammate Kanthan is also firmly established among the leading runners, currently sitting sixth with 100 points. The American made an excellent start to the season by winning one of the races at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. After facing some difficulties in Portimão and Alcañiz, Kanthan returned from the summer break with renewed strength. He finished third and never dropped outside the top six in any of the races at Jarama, before climbing onto the second step of the podium at Jerez, where he also finished fourth and ninth. He will be one to watch closely at Los Arcos, having built considerable momentum in recent events.

Fisher, meanwhile, has also shown flashes of his quality in his debut season. The Canadian sits just outside the championship top ten in 11th position and has already secured four top-five finishes this year. A podium remains the missing piece of the puzzle, and Fisher continues to work towards achieving that milestone as soon as possible.

Another debutant follows closely behind him in the standings in the shape of Micallef. The Maltese driver is also proving to be one of the standout rookies of 2026. After securing pole position at the Algarve International Circuit, Micallef claimed his maiden F4 Spain podium with third place at Jarama. He has also consistently been one of the drivers making up the most ground during the races.

Kelleher has likewise made significant progress in recent events. The Irishman has taken a step forward in competitive terms during the second half of the season. Although he scored his first points at the team’s home event in Valencia and added further points in the Algarve and Aragón, he has produced his strongest form since the summer break. In fact, at Jerez just a few weeks ago, he scored in all three races, finishing fifth twice and seventh once.

Fluxá has also opened her points account this season. The Spanish driver has not always enjoyed the rub of the green, but she will be aiming for her strongest weekend of the campaign so far at Los Arcos as she continues her development while remaining the highest-placed female driver in the championship.

In the Teams’ Championship, Griffin Core by Campos sits second with 237 points, while Campos Racing is seventh with 63.

The Circuito de Navarra opened its doors in 2010 and has been an almost permanent fixture on the F4 Spain calendar since the championship was created. Following a change in ownership, however, the circuit underwent a number of significant modifications which came into effect at the end of 2024. Alongside a complete resurfacing, Turn 6 was modified and the second sector was extended with the addition of two corners, including the current Turn 11 hairpin. This has created an additional overtaking opportunity, alongside the braking zones at the end of the main straight and the back straight. Measuring 4.313 kilometres, the Circuito de Navarra remains a technical and twisty venue where a strong qualifying position can go a long way towards securing a positive result.

The weekend schedule features two free practice sessions on Friday at 12:30 and 16:10. On Saturday, the first qualifying session will get underway at 09:00. Race 1, lasting 30 minutes plus one lap, will start at 11:10, while Race 2, scheduled for 20 minutes plus one lap, is set for 14:15. On Sunday, the drivers will return to the track at 09:00 for the second qualifying session. The third and final race will get underway at 13:25 and will last 30 minutes plus one lap. All the action can be followed live through the championship’s official YouTube channel. All times are local Spanish time.

Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “We are heading to Los Arcos at a very important stage of the season, with only two rounds remaining and Noah still firmly in the title fight. His performance at Jerez was fantastic and once again showed the potential he has, so our goal is to keep working as hard as possible to give him the best tools for this final part of the season. We are also seeing very positive progress from Vivek, Ty, Jacob, Daniel and Luna, and we want all of them to continue taking steps forward this weekend. As always, we will approach the event with maximum ambition and focus, aiming to achieve the best possible results for both Griffin Core by Campos and Campos Racing.”
