Indonesia´s driver came 10th in Sunday´s GP2 race at Spa-Francorchamps. Off track forces Pic out of race
Campos Racing couldn´t be in podium contention today´s Sprint race at Spa-Francorchamps with its drivers Rio Haryanto and Arthur Pic. Pic grabbed 2nd step on podium yesterday but neither the Frenchman nor Haryanto could equal their performance yesterday from the midfield of the starting grid.
On the first lap, Pic dropped to 11th ahead of his teammate Haryanto. Later the Asian driver passed Pic for eleventh place and Colombia´s Julián Leal would be his next victim, moving up to tenth. Pic wasn´t able to be in the slipstream of his teammate and, with five laps to go, he spun at Stavelot and was forced into retirement when ran through the gravel trap. A Virtual Safety Car was deployed as a result, and when green flags waved again Haryanto brought 10th place home.
Monza, the famous Italian temple of speed, will host next event on the first weekend in September.
