Barrier damage due to a pileup involving several cars brought out red flag and later race was cancelled

Sunday´s came to an early end today at Yas Marina Circuit when red flag was brought out due to an accident on the first lap. Rio Haryanto, second on the starting grid, avoided any incident but Arthur Pic saw his car damaged. Frenchman driver avoided a melee involving Sean Gelael, Daniel de Jong, Nicholas Latifi and Artem Markelov but crashing with Sergey Sirtokin instead.

The accident caused extensive damage to the barriers and, firstly, race was red-flagged but later resulted in cancellation. No points were awarded, so drivers´ classification remained unchanged with Haryanto fourth on 138 points, a mere point behind Sirotkin. Campos Racing ranked 4th on 198 points.
