New addition to Campos Racing driver line-up took 4th places in the Independents´ Trophy at home event in Buriram. Filippi 6th
Campos Racing and its new driver in the World Touring Car Championship, Thailand´s Tin Sritrai, took a double 4th-place finish at Chang International Circuit. For sure it was a positive start for this newcomer in the WTCC series.
In qualifying, which took place on Sunday´s morning, French Hugo Valente secured 2nd place among the privateers and 6th overall with his Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1. Filippi was 5th and finally Sritrai got his time disallowed due to weighing procedure infringement.
On the opening lap of Race 1, Valente was caught in a pile-up and forced to retire, and Corsican Filippi also was forced to retire five laps later. Therefore, Sritrai continued defending the Campos Racing banner finally finishing 4th. Unfortunately Valente´s car couldn´t be fixed on time for Race 2. Sritrai came 4th once again with Filippi taking the checkered flag sixth.
The final round will be held in Qatar at the end of the month.
