Spain´s Álex Palou, Netherlands´ Steijn Schothorst and Russia´s Konstantin Tereschenko are feeling positive ahead of the Spa-Francorchamps race weekend
Second half of the GP3 Series season starts at Spa-Francorchamps and the only Spanish team vying for top honors, Campos Racing, will run a three-car armada driven by Álex Palou, Steijn Schothorst and Konstantin Tereschenko once again.
Despite Lady Luck isn´t smiling on Campos Racing drivers so far, they have already shown flashes of talent. So, Palou climbed second onto the podium at Silverstone in race two and Schothorst also claimed a brilliant fifth place after putting a good recovery drive on the same day. Tereschenko almost picked up his first points and at Spa-Francorchamps he and his teammates could have a breeding ground considering their previous achievements at the track.
Spa-Francorchamps is always a challenge for drivers and engineers. In the first and third sectors top speed counts the most but then middle sector requires high downforce through the turns of Pouhon, Campus and Stavelot.
Following Friday´s free practice session, qualifying will be held on Saturday at 09.45. Race 1 takes place later at 17.15 and race 2 is due to start at 09.15 on Sunday.
