Gelael and Evans arrives to the final European round of the GP2 Series to take place at Monza, the heralded Italian venue where both Pertamina Campos Racing drivers aim to shine

Pertamina Campos Racing and its young duo of Indonesia´s Sean Gelael and New Zealand´s Mitch Evans head to Monza, host of the season´s antepenultimate round of the GP2 Series.

The Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, known as the “Temple of Speed”, is a super-fast track where slipstreaming is always a major factor. Besides, the event in the frame of the Grand Prix of Italy has been a breeding ground for Pertamina Campos Racing as the Alzira-based fights for wins and podiums on a regular basis. Frenchman Arthur Pic stepped onto the rostrum with a Campos Racing-entered Dallara the last two years. Pic finished second behind McLaren protégée Stoffel Vandoorne in 2014 and repeated the same result in the next year behind Evans. For this reason, Pertamina Campos Racing and their drivers set ambitious goals next weekend. Despite they both couldn´t pick up some valuable points at Spa-Francorchamps, they are hugely encouraged ahead of the Italian venue.

Monza is an even lower downforce track than Spa-Francorchamps as it is dominated by long straights. The speeds are always particularly high but at the same time there are several hard braking areas and challenging chicanes.

The single free practice session will take place on Friday at 12.00. After, the qualifying session is due to start at 15.55. Both races are scheduled at 15.40 (Feature race) on Saturday and at 10.25 (Sprint race) on Sunday.
