Spaniard driver signs-off in style at season-finale by winning weekend´s race two in Abu Dhabi and Spain´s national anthem was played during podium ceremony
The hard work finally did bear fruit for Campos Racing and Alex Palou in the GP3 Series, as the latter emerged victorious today at Yas Marina Circuit. Spain´s Palou, who finished 8th in race 1, had secured race two reverse grid pole for Sunday. And with Palou and his team taking a dominant role, there were not many options for the rivals to beat them.
When the lights went out, Palou held the lead ahead of Antonio Fuoco. Almost immediately, Palou pulled away from the rest of the field, creating a 3-second gap on the Italian driver. Setting the fastest lap, the Campos Racing-entered Dallara driven by Palou took the checkered in first place and almost five seconds ahead of Fuoco. It was a way to end 2015 season on high note. For Campos Racing it was their first victory in the series on season debut.
Konstantin Tereschenko and Zaid Ashkananai finished 20th and 21st respectively.
