The Ring is the world´s most challenging race track due to its length and layout in the mountains and for second season in a row plays host to World Touring Car Championship
Campos Racing and Corsica´s John Filippi will contest the fifth round of the season in the World Touring Car Championship, two other races through a green hell. The long Nürburgring- Nordschleife is known as “Die grüne Hölle” and hosts another race weekend of the WTCC next weekend. Filippi, at the wheel of his Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1, will once again defend the colors of the Campos Racing.
Filippi, who sits 4th in the WTCC Trophy, eyes podium at the Nürburgring- Nordschleife, a race track where time differences are measured in seconds, not tenths. On the other hand, Campos Racing lies third in teams´ classification.
RML-built Chevrolet cars will run without compensation weight.
For this event, as the round takes place in the frame of the 24 hours of Nürburgring, weekend´s timetable is slightly different. Private testing will be held on Thursday, ahead of Friday´s qualifying session taking place at 12.45. Both races are due to start on Saturday at 11.20 and 12.45.
