Campos Racing and John Filippi head to Portugal for round six of the World Touring Car Championship. Vila Real´s street circuit is called the true heart of motor racing in Portugal
Campos Racing and Corsican John Filippi pay visit to Portugal´s Circuito Internacional de Vila Real, which host round six of the World Touring Car Championship next weekend. Filippi, at the wheel of his Campos Racing-entered Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1, claimed first podium of the year at the Moscow Raceway. By finishing third, Filippi strengthened his fourth place in the WTCC Trophy´ classification.
That result was a morale boost for everyone at Campos Racing and Filippi and the Alzira-based team have high goals for the upcoming Race of Portugal. Racing has been held in Vila Real since 1931 and became an addition to the calendar of the most important touring car series in 2015. Hugo Valente took 2nd place in the Independents´ Trophy for Adrián Campos´ team on his debutr and Filippi made it to the finish both races gaining valuable experience.
Chevrolet cars have gained 10 kilograms of compensation weight for Portugal.
With two free practice sessions before qualifying on Saturday, both races will take place on Sunday at 15.05 (Opening Race – 13 laps) and 16.15 (Main Race – 14 laps).
