Campos Racing driver has secured front row start for tomorrow´s Sprint race at Red Bull Ring as the Indonesian came 7th today. Pic, 9th, completed another good race to finish 9th with both drivers scoring points
Indonesia´s Rio Haryanto will have another chance to fight for a new race win in the GP2 Series tomorrow, as he will start second on the grid with his Campos Racing-entered Dallara GP2/11. Yesterday´s qualifying session saw Haryanto taking 5th place and his teammate, Frenchman Arthur Pic, ninth.
Lap 1 was problematic but both Haryanto and Pic managed to avoid any incident, with a “Virtual safety car” being deployed at the beginning. Pic was one of the first drivers to pit on lap seven unlike Haryanto, who made an extremely long first stint on harder tires. Haryanto overtook Pierre Gasly and ran second a good part of the race. After his pit stop, the Asian racer dropped to 8th place but still passed Nick Yelloly for 7th. It means 2nd on the reverse grid tomorrow. Pic finished 9th, collecting valuable points.
Sprint race is due to start tomorrow at 10.35.
