Abu Dhabi´s Yas Marina Circuit will mark the final GP3 Series event in 2016 and the trio of Campos Racing targets strong finish to the season
The GP3 Series heads to Abu Dhabi for its season finale and Campos Racing aims to finish on a high at Yas Marina Circuit, a unique and exciting race track. Netherlands´ Steijn Schothorst, Spain´s Álex Palou and Russia´s Konstantin Tereschenko will head to UAE for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, whose venue is situated on Yas Island. Palou, Schothorst and Tereschenko produced several strong displays throughout the season and expect a similar performance on their final race weekend. Both Schothorst and Palou collected valuable points for Campos Racing this season, the Dutchman a total of 26 points and his teammate Spain´s Palou 15 points.
As the GP3 races will be run in the in the daylight hours, temperatures can exceed 30 degrees centigrade. So, tire wear could play an important role despite Yas Marina Circuit surface is particularly smooth. The fastest corners are contained in the first sector before entering a second sector characterized by two long straights. Then, the final sector has extremely slow corners.
Friday´s free practice and qualifying sessions will be held at 07.00 (CET time) and 12.10 (CET). Saturday´s race 1 is due to start at 09.25 (CET) and finally race 2 will be held at 10.00 (CET) on Sunday.
