Laaksonen, Vivacqua, Pulcini, Gachot and Kari drove the Campos Racing-run cars during the three-day winter test

Çampos Racing brought the 2017 season to a positive end with an excellent overall performance during GP3 Series’ collective test at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Five drivers, Simo Laaksonen and Thiago Vivacqua – they both defending the banner of Campos Racing in the Euroformula F3 Open-, Leonardo Pulcini, Louis Gachot and Niko Kari completed an extremely positive test with the Spain-based team.

On Thursday, Italian Pulcini finished third on the timesheets by clocking a lap time of 1:55.362. On
the other hand, Vivacqua and Laaksonen made a good start to their GP3 experience as the Brazilian ace set a time of 1:56.937, meanwhile the Finnish driver posted a lap of 1:56.970, a true reflection of how close times are in the series.

On Friday, Pulcini led the way for Campos Racing as the former Formula 3 champion was fastest in the afternoon and second in the morning. Laaksonen continued putting kilometers under his belt and improved to score a 1:56.135. Gachot joined Campos Racing for a first taste of the GP3 machinery. The son of the former Formula 1 star Bertrand Gachot posted a best lap of 1:57.419.

On the final day, another Finnish driver, Kari also displayed his talent finishing second and fourth on the scoreboard and a personal best of 1:55.037. Gachot made massive progress and improved to clock a lap of 1:55.952 ahead of Laaksonen, the latter ending the test with a 1:56.204.
