The Spanish team expands its motorsport programme towards the pinnacle of motorsport, each of the steps from go-karts to Formula 1. Campos Racing replaces Hilmer Motorsport
Campos Racing will contest in another international motorsport championship next year, as the squad has joined the GP3 Series line-up. Campos Racing has taken part this year in series such as the GP2 Series, the FIA Formula E, the World Touring Car Championship and the Euroformula Open, and the GP3 Series will mean another extremely competitive international arena for the outfit founded by Adrián Campos. Campos Racing replaces Hilmer Motorsport in the series, whose meetings take place with Formula 1 and the GP2 Series, and 2015 will be his debut season.
Adrián Campos, team principal at Campos Racing, expressed “satisfaction because our entry in the GP3 Series will strenghten our team and we can work with a young pilot from go-karting to Formula 1, taking the intermediate steps necessary to achieve success. We can start working with a driver after his career in go-karting to Formula 1. This championship is very important for youngsters, as they need to learn how to drive such a powerful car. Finally we have managed to confirm our participation in the series, as our goal was”.
Bruno Michel, CEO of the GP3 Series, has commented that “I am pleased to welcome Campos Racing to the GP3 Series. They have shown their pedigree in GP2 and I’m sure they will be a great addition to the GP3 grid. I’m convinced that thanks to their expertise they will adapt quickly to GP3”.
Campos Racing will start to work on track with its car during next year´s collective tests.
