Mexican driver gears up for his second season in the EuroFormula Open with Ecuador´s racer making his debut in the series. The Quito-born driver already has a quite brilliant career in single-seater racing. Finally, Pulcini also joins the driver lineup for his second season in the series
Campos Racing is pleased to announce their driver line up for 2016 EuroFormula Open season. Mexico´s Diego Menchaca, in his second season in the championship, Ecuador´s Julio Moreno, who spearheads motorsport efforts in his country, and Italy´s Leonardo Pulcini, a gifted racing driver who joins Campos Racing after proving his speed last year.
Menchaca (Mexico City, 20 October 1994) was one of the top rookie drivers in 2015, claiming a significant number of wins and podiums with his Campos Racing-entered car. In addition, he secured his first overall podium by finishing 2nd in Barcelona during the season finale. Undoubtedly Menchaca is going to be a title contender this upcoming 2016 season.
Moreno (Quito, 12 June 1995) has raced for over four years in singleseater racing despite his youth. Ecuadorean driver contested some famous series such as Formula Ford or Formula Renault and it the big hope in Ecuador to become the first from his country to start a F1 World Championship Grand Prix. Last year, Moreno took part in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship but the American driver has switched to the EuroFormula Open series. By joining Campos Racing, which has one of the most impressive racing records in Europe, Moreno joins a squad contesting key championships such as GP2, GP3 or Formula 3.
Pulcini (Roma, 12 June 1998), Italy´s rising star, is almost a teenager but already proved to be a race winner in Formula 3 racing as took win at Red Bull Ring last year. Pulcini will be another strong contender for title driving for Campos Racing.
Diego Menchaca: “I am very happy to continue the development of my career with Campos Racing. This year the team and I have a very clear goal, win the EuroFormula Open Championship. Last year I learned a lot on the personal and professional side and we achieved good results, so we decided in November, to continue one more year with the team in the same championship.I would like to take the chance to thank Adrián Campos Senior and junior, Philippe Gautheron and the whole Campos Racing team for the teaching, support and trust”.
Julio Moreno: “I´m very excited to contest the Euroformula Open with Campos, the cradle of starts like Fernando Alonso. This season is key for me because, despite It will be my first year in the EuroFormula Open, at the same time it will be my second season in a Formula 3 car, so I hope to use my experience to deliver a good performance in order to complete a positive season for my team and myself”.
Leonardo Pulcini: “I am very happy to be part of the Campos Racing family, and to announce that I will be racing in EuroFormula Open with them. Thank´s a lot to Adrián Campos Senior and Junior for the opportunity and the confidence they are giving to me”.
Adrian Campos Jr: “I´m delighted to confirm such a strong driver lineup because they all are potential title contenders. Diego already delivered strong performances last year and for sure he will make further improvements. Julio is another driver who has the same anger to win and learn. I´m sure he will take advantage from his past experience. I´m sure he will move forward in his career this season, always among the fastest drivers.
