García and his teammates Magnussen / Rockenfeller claimed second place in GTLM class at the Daytona 24 hours. García and Oliver Gavin crossed the finish line side-by-side together

The 54th Daytona 24 hours saw an incredible nail-biting finish with Antonio García, a Campos Racing´s partner, and Oliver Gavin driving both factory-entered Chevrolet Corvette C7.R cars side-by-side during the final laps. In rain-hit qualifying session, García´s teammate Jan Magnussen qualified 8th place with a lap time of 2:05.979, right behind the second factory car driven by Gavin, Tommy Milner and Marcel Fässler.

Both cars always were in podium contention and, little by little, pulled away from the rest of pack, with several official teams such as Porsche, BMW, Ferrari and Ford, in the final hours. One of the Porsche cars, driven by Earl Bamber, Fréderéric Makowiecki and Michael Christensen was passed first by Gavin and shortly after by García, charging on his final stint with the car shared with Magnussen and Mike Rockenfeller. Spaniard driver and Gavin raced door-to-door for the final sprint to the finish with the latter taking the checkered flag by a matter of inches. Besides, the margin of victory set a new record at the Daytona 24 hours.
