Rio Haryanto has managed to achieve his second triumph in the GP2 Series with Campos Racing following that taken in opening round. Campos Racing driver brought 7th place home yesterday and it was a front row start on the reverse grid today of Race 2 at Red Bull Ring. And Haryanto has taken the opportunity.
Haryanto was able to pass Nick Yelloly, the pole sitter, for the lead at the start and dominated the entire race from the on. His closest rival in the first part of the race was Russia´s Artem Markelov, but by the halfway point the Russian tried a risk overtaking move on Haryanto. Despite it slightly damaged Haryanto´s car front wing, he still kept at bay Stoffel Vandoorne and Nobuharu Matsushita.
Arthur Pic, with another car fielded by Campos Racing, was in points contention and fought with rivals, finally taking 11th place.
After Austria´s venue, Haryanto strengthens his 3rd place in the drivers´ championship on 70 points. Campos Racing lies third in the teams´ standings.
In two weeks´ time another round will take place at Siverstone.
